The Death penalty has long been a controversial issue in America and the world. Troy Davis was put to death in Georgia yesterday and the issue of the last few days has been the death penalty. Mr. Davis was put to death by lethal injection for the killing of an off duty police officer in Georgia. While maintianing his innocence Troy Davis had many supporters who opposed the use of the death penalty on Mr. Davis.

In some instances, you may be released on your own recognizance, where you sign an agreement to return to court whenever ordered. Willful failure to appear is a misdemeanor and a bench warrant may be issued for your arrest.
